In the Blue Water Inn#

The party tries to get information out of the two sons of Fiona Wachter: Nikolai Wachter and Karl Wachter. Their guard is especially vigilant and even refuses free alcohol. They are mostly unsuccessful. The only thing they find out is that their mum met with strange people in the basement of their house before the coup.

The party goes to bed. Thaddeus repairs the armour Ilizeyros bought. Both eat their last piece of delicious pie. In the backs of their minds they start thinking about spending a day without pie. A dreadful thought.

Castle Ravenloft#

The party goes to the crossroads a few hours away from Vallaki and the promised carriage is waiting there. Its drawn by skeletal non-burning horses and drives itself to castle Ravenloft once the party enters.

The carriage crosses a 50ft draw bridge before entering the courtyard of the castle. There they are welcomed by Rahadin, whom they’ve met before and Cyrrus. Cyrrus is a mongrelfolk similar to the people in Krezk.

The party is led to the guest rooms. There are 2 servants there. An man and a young woman making the beds. The young woman turns out to be Mad Marys daughter. She confirms the story that the party assumed. The daughter was held against her will by Mad Mary. She seems to be content in the castle.

The party is allowed to explore the castle until the dinner starts. The dungeons, the crypts and closed doors are off-limits.

Every floor has a name: “The spire” is the top floor where the guest rooms are located. The ground floor is called unimaginatively called “The main floor”. The first floor is called the “Court of the count” and the second is dramatically called “The rooms of weeping”.
